About the orchestra

We are a small friendly orchestra with members from the Southampton and South Hampshire areas. The orchestra mainly plays lighter classical music.

Vacancies

We are always keen to recruit new members. Currently we are particularly keen to hear from string, brass and percussion players. To get further information on the orchestra please contact our Secretary Caroline on 02380 579061.

Instrument Loan Scheme

The orchestral also operates an instrument loan scheme and selected instruments are available for loan to encourage musical development. The aims of the orchestra are to give enjoyment and practice to the members, to encourage musicians to join and obtain higher musical standards and to bring music to audiences in Marchwood and beyond.

Social Events.

After Thursday evening rehearsals, a group of orchestra members can often be found congregating in a local pub. Also after concerts, we often meet up for a curry or to have a "get together" at a local pub. In addition, we also have various social events throughout the year. Recent events have been skittles evenings and barbecues.
