Conductor Retires - 01.01.2012
Tony Kitcherside has decided to hand over ther reigns of Marchwood Orchestra to Alex Pope.
Tony officially took over the full time conducting of the orchestra from Peter Robson in 2006.
He has demonstrated a whole range of skills from which the members of the orchestra have benefited. With his background as a highly trained and telented musician, he has arranged and composed some wonderful and sometimes challenging music for the orchestra to perform. Tony's knowledge of musical structure, harmony and instrumental parts is second to none.
He has provided a great sense of security and support for our ameteur players through his conducting, with regard to the beat and changes of tempo.
Tony is a kind generous family man and he has promissed to join our brass section where he can delight us with the sounds of his French Horn.
